New Year Message

Fear is meant to warn us of danger, not make us afraid of it. Fear undermines both our ability to reason and to access the heart. Yet we are at our best when heart and reason work together. However, acting from reason or the heart requires conscious thought processes. It is exactly this type of conscious thought that fear completely annihilates in a heartbeat.

It is our opportunity and our challenge as humans to rise out of fear into consciousness. In spite of the fear mongering of our times we must rise up with reason and heart. With too much heart we over extend our boundaries, try to fix things that aren't ours to fix, and get our feelings hurt. With too much reason we forget to consider our connections to other things and to all that is invisible in our world that gives our life meaning.

As you look toward the New Year, rise up with reason and heart. Reaffirm your commitment to living a life of meaning and purpose whatever that takes…whatever courage, whatever risks, whatever new things you must learn, whatever old ways must be let go. Do whatever it takes to do what is required today, in this moment, to be your better angel. And know that the spirit world is with you always in all that you do.
